From "Facts and Details" - "Most of the music that received air play from the 1940s to the 1980s, was revolutionary music, characterized by march-like music and pro-Communist lyrics. The most well known song was “The East is Red”, whose chorus went: "The east is red! The sun is rising! China has produced Mao Zedong!"
