Twelve volume set, nicely bound in gold/brown silk with top edges gilt.Each volume with a lovely engraved frontispiece by George Cruikshank, and title page ornamentation. The delicate silk binding shows minor wear and slight spotting to a few volumes, with some bumping to corners. Silk binding to volume 1 a little crinkled. A few volumes slightly stressed, but all still tight. Previous owner's signature in pencil to ffeps. Internally, it appears the set was never read, as the contents are very clean and crisp. Fleur-des-lis design on spines, with gilt lettering: altogether a most attractive set on the shelf and in generally very good condition. Item #9900029075
