Sully (1560-1641) was a Huguenot soldier, financier, and statesman who became Henry IV's chief minister and, under his often autocratic guidance, restored stability (and solvency) to France's affairs. He left a collections of memoirs, written in the second person (first published in 1634), which are valuable as a history of the times. Our offering is the second volume of these memoirs, commencing with chapter 71 and concluding with a comprehensive Table of Contents. Colophon states that this edition was printed at Rouen, France, on September 28, 1663, to be sold in Paris by Thomas Jolly.
